Interesting ways to use Evernote for genealogy. ?
Don Varner
You can modify the Evernote layout in many ways. The first thing to do is
remove the left panel to increase the space for your note.
Don Varner
Since I saw an ad on the left pane when Caroline was showing her demo. That
indicates she is using the free version.
Eric Powell
Watching and use Evernote.
Jean Perera
You get 60 mb per month in the free version.
Kenneth R Marks
Don you can put comments in either place and they will be monitored and
read wherever they are posted.
Don Varner
I like Evernote since my notes are synced on all my devices as well as
stored on the Evernote website. They can be accessed from any device.
Don Varner
Kenneth, thanks. Wasn’t sure if you wanted to try to keep all the comments
in one place or not.
Debra Fowler Kabinier
how easy/difficult is it to transfer the files from evernote to a genealogy
program
Don Varner
Love the web clipper option.
Julie Cahill Tarr
Ok, finally finally figured out how to leave a comment here – FYI FamSearch
images have been down for at least the last hour.
Annette Kapple
Thanks! It’s been very helpful!

Should comments be made here or on Google+ under the HOA announcement?
Tessa Keough
sorry that should have been “what do you use OneNote for vs Evernote as to
genealogy” I am guessing you don’t overlap

Watching and use Evernote for many things,

Please let us know who is watching!

I’m watching – don’t use Evernote but want to compare to last night’s
hangout on air and also see it as a viewer rather than a joiner.

Going Paperless’ Jamie Todd Rubin says he exports Evernote all notes once a
month. I tried this, it creates a ENEX file. If you just put it on hard
drive, fine. But if you open it, it reloads all your nores back into EN, so
duplicates. But he says if EN ever disappears, he will still have the notes
and app on computer, but no longer in the cloud. So, at least notes can be
exported for backup.
Andrew Martin
I need to catch one of these in real time – looks quite fun.
Annette Kapple
I think I like Onenote better but I will try again using these tips. The
Onenote layout looks cleaner.
