10 Top Tips for How to Bust Through Your Genealogy Brick Wall
|I tried to listen for the 10 top ten tips, but the video never really addresses a specific list. Here are the main points I took from the video.
1. Create a timeline of the person’s life you are researching
2. Make sure you understand the geography of the person so you can know WHERE to look for the relevant resources.
3. Locals know more about the people and its history than any Library or state record. See if there are people in the areas you are researching that you can contact about these things.
4. If possible, work with others that have already researched the family line you’re investigating.
5. Local Newspapers can be a powerful resource in your genealogy research.
